We are Water

We are Water was inspired by the Dakota Sioux Access pipeline protests and the importance of clean water for life. The human body is made up of 50 – 75% water. Water is quickly shifting from a free and natural resource to a commodity bought and sold in the global economy. Today water companies in even the most fertile and wealthy regions of the United States are being bought by foreign-owned corporations. The blue face stain is also my nod to native war paint.
